Specific form and scope of application of "silicone"
After processing and synthesizing with other substances, "silicon" is used as a raw material for manufacturing various products with excellent properties such as environmental friendliness, non toxicity, and durability. Silicone is divided into solid silicone and liquid silicone; Liquid silicone gel is divided into condensation type silicone gel and addition type silicone gel. But their uses are different. Only solid silicone gel is needed to achieve the desired effect, so there is no need to choose expensive liquid silicone gel. Additive silicone gel may not be suitable for the places where condensation silicone gel is suitable, and vice versa.
Its purpose and brief description are as follows:
1. Solid silicone gel: commonly used for products with better heat resistance and release ability, but with less surface requirements, no other special bright or matte surfaces, and no requirements for joint marks. Usually used for general heat-resistant, odor resistant, and UV resistant bonding rollers, water squeezing rollers, and bridge rollers near static motors.
2. Liquid condensation type silicone gel: commonly used in places with high heat resistance and excellent release force, without any contact marks or pores. The surface of the product must be shiny, matte, and free of any bright spots, contact marks, grinding marks, vibration marks, etc; But the mechanical properties are poor and require careful care. The pressure should not be too high, and it is usually used for applications such as adhesive tape, film, and coating.
3. Liquid addition molding silicone: commonly used in places with excellent heat resistance and release force, no bright spots, no contact marks, no grinding marks, high strength, and high elasticity. It is usually used in embossing rollers for adhesive tape and rubber sheets, and silicone flower wheels for PU synthetic leather. But the release ability is slightly inferior to that of condensed silicone gel, which is difficult and time-consuming to grind, and can be ground into a smooth surface.
4. Silicone is divided into food industry, medical industry, and industrial silicone:
① Silicone used in the food industry is commonly used for spare parts in food machinery, which must have high heat resistance, non polluting and non-toxic properties. Common examples include conveyor belts and pacifiers on food conveyors.
② Silicone used in the medical industry is commonly used for medical catheters, artificial cartilage, dental replicas, and cheek fillers Wait.
③ Industrial silicone is commonly used for various heat-resistant pressing, heat-resistant rollers, office machines, keyboards, and various soft molds.
